I WANT TO WRITE A POEM
I want to write a poem.
With a pencil and a pen
A poem of my motherland
My land not England
To directors of state enterprise,
It will come as a surprise
To directors of the uniformed forces
Those who have no choices
To directors of intelligence
Who intimidate by presence
To directors of dictatorship
I want to write a poem
Plain and solemn
A poem of distress
With a point to stress
Which none can suppress
I want to write that poem soon
Before the next new moon
Only if guaranteed freedom
Freedom not free doom
Not only of expression,
But also after expression
